Domaine de Marzilly - Ullens - L.P.M.
Maxime Ullens wasn’t born in Champagne nor he inherit the domain, he came from Belgium with an architect background, felt in love with Champagne and bought the Chateau de Marzilly and start his winemaking journey.
This sophisticated Champagne is an ode to the area and it’s grape.
L.P.M. stands for: La Petite Montagne (De Reims), Le Pinot Meunier & Le Parc de Marzilly (The Estate)
This Blanc de Noirs, 100% Meunier from the Massif de St Thierry, is made like all the other Ullens’ champagne aged in oak coming from the estate. A true dedication to control in every steps.
The nose opens with fine notes of quince, pear and fresh almond. The attack in the mouth is frank and very elegant. We are in the presence of a Pinot Meunier with a lot of finesse and lace. The fresh white fruit notes are delicate and the generous palate gives way to a beautiful minerality and a slight salinity. When Pinot Meunier offers a finesse comparable to Chardonnay, you will discover an aperitif companion.
