This the main savoir-faire from Kalian, a beautiful sweet one from the great Montbazillac appellation, this a perfectly balanced wine, with great acidity and sweetness level.

The nose is strong on exotic fruit, like maracuya, litchi and a hint of oak. The palate is vibrant, marked by acidity, freshness and elegance, citrus and apricot are shinning, it evolved on the aromas present on the nose with a long lasting finish.

Kilian (with his sister Katell) is the second generation of Château Kalian, the main production is focus on Montbazillac village with about 80% white grapes. About 15ha, of organic vineyards on the plateau of Montbazillac, the domaine has diverse soil parcels around the property.

  • Appellation: Montbazillac AOC

  • Grapes: 55% Sémillon, 30% Muscadelle, 15% Sauvignon Blanc

  • Soil: Clay & Limestone, average 150m altitude with East-West exposure

  • Wine-making: Only produce in the premium year, the domain uses Massale selection. Hand harvest in multiple passes, 3 to 6 on average, depending the parcels and ripening, targeting 340—415g of sugar per liter. Direct pneumatic pressing for 3 to 4 hours, followed by a 24 hours cold settling at 4°C. Alcoholic fermentation in french oak barrels at 18°C with a cold mutation, aged for 10 months in barrels of 1 or 2 years. Bottling in September 2023.
