Pinot Noir and crisp Chasselas around the lakes of Neuchâtel, Biel and Morat.
Straddling the French–German language border, this region gathers the vineyards around three lakes — Neuchâtel, Biel/Bienne and Morat (Vully). Close to Burgundy in both distance and spirit, it was among the first to plant Pinot Noir in Switzerland, and makes pale, delicate reds plus famously crisp, limestone-driven Chasselas. Watch for Œil-de-Perdrix, the region's signature pale Pinot Noir rosé. Roughly 950 ha.
It's the natural-wine bridge between French and German Switzerland.
