A narrow strip of east-facing limestone slope between Dijon and Nuits-Saint-Georges, home to most of Burgundy's red Grands Crus. Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée and their neighbours produce Pinot Noir of extraordinary depth and ageability from plots that change character every few metres.

Most Grands Crus here are red.
